BIO: Director of Tennis: Marc Turner
Marc is a certified PTR teaching professional with over 20 years of teaching experience in both junior and adult development. Having begun his teaching career on the courts of Baker Park while playing for Frederick High, Marc continued teaching while playing and graduating from Salisbury University. In addition to spending time a WTA hitting partner, Marc has taught for such local clubs as the “Tuscarora Tennis Barn” and “WestWinds Tennis and Fitness”. With all of his teaching and playing experience, Marc uses his knowledge to teach players of all skill levels in both private and group settings with an emphasis on creating a fun and positive environment. He stresses the fundamentals of stroke development, strategy, and conditioning with instructional drills and match play situations.
Fall Junior Groups Lessons begin the week of 9/12 Thursday and Saturday Classes available (min 4 per class)
10 and Under Tennis – 6 Week Session (6 classes) 9/15 - 10/20: 1 Hr Class (Members $150.00, Non Members $200.00)
Thursday classes 5:30 - 6:30pm or Saturday classes 9:00am - 10:00am
This group will work to improve both movement and technique while being introduced to the concepts and rules of play on a larger court space. Strategy and skill building are key elements introduced at this level while making friends and playing games.
Junior Academy – 6 Week Session 9/12-10/17: 1.5 Hr class (Members $225.00, Non Members $275.00)
Mondays 5:30 - 7:00pm
Our junior academy builds on the skills and mechanics developed in the 10 and under program. This class introduces footwork patterns, spin mechanics on both the serve and ground strokes and tactical awareness. Specifically, each player learns to develop areas of strength in their game and how to use them to their advantage.
Tuesday - Ladies Night Drills - begins the week of 9/5 (Members $30.00, Non Members $40.00) Continues weekly for the rest of the season
5:30 - 7:00pm
Designed for all skill levels, from the low intermediate-advanced player looking have a great time in a social setting while building skill through repetition.
